The College of Nursing, Ntotroso, can best be described as the first nursing college (RGN) to be established in Ahafo in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Recognizing the fact that life has no substitute, and a healthy people is an asset in nation building, BARIMA TWEREKU AMPEM III, the Omanhene of the Traditional Council, conceived the idea of establishing a nursing institute in 2011.

The College is the brainchild of the Omanhene of Ntotroso. The 2012 edition of Apomasu Festival of the chiefs and people of the then Ahafo North Divisional Council celebrated at Ntotroso centered on the theme: Quality Health-The role of a Nursing School; the untiring and sacrifice of the Omanhene and his people, as well as the significant role played by Newmont/NADeF as funding partners plus the special support of OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II (Asantehene), collectively brought the College of Nursing, Ntotroso into reality.
